Rationale uk.local.worcestershire

There are discussion groups for neighbouring counties but nothing for
Worcester and Worcestershire

Charter uk.local.worcestershire

The group is for the discussion of events , activities both social and
business within the County of Worcetsershire.

Advertising

Advertising is forbidden, with these exceptions:

Suppliers of goods and services relevant to group subject and local
employment in the UK
may post an invitation to visit their web site or request details.
It should be of four lines or fewer and not posted more than once
every 3 months. The subject line should begin "ADVERT: ",
except for vacancy adverts, when it should begin "JOB: ".

Binaries & Formatting

Encoded binaries (e.g. pictures, compressed files, etc.) are
forbidden. Such material belongs on a web or FTP site to which
a pointer may be posted. Cryptographic signatures (e.g. PGP)
may be used where authentication is important and should be as
short as possible.

Posts must be readable as plain text. HTML, RTF and similarly
formatted messages are prohibited. To see how to make some
common newsreaders comply with this, read
<http://www.usenet.org.uk/ukpost.html>.

Warning. Anyone posting contrary to this charter may be reported to their
"postmaster" and/or Service Provider.

Probably because Worcestershire is quite simply the dullest place in the
world and Worcester is Chav central, where the only entertainments are
getting ratlegged then driving in circles around car parks.

I support the creation of the group, for the amusement factor in seeing
posts in which the only word used is "duh".

Not approved by Control; hence not an RFD. Try harder next time.

How very helpful, and *SO* imbued with seasonal cheer...

I see though, that there is someone around who understands that not
*EVERYONE* knows where to look - and may not look at this froup at the
right time to field the useful periodic post from faqs@*...

If this is submitted correctly and you can find enough people interested
then by all means have your group , but be aware that most uk.local groups
rapidly turn into troll-fests

I am just over the border in Herefordshire, but the Herefordshire
group is dead. There are people in Worcester who have read and had
posted to the group in the past, but not sure if they are still
reading. I support the creation (as I am in Worcester quite a lot),
but wonder how much it would be used/would it just get trash posts
being another local.* group?
